Qualifications

  • Experience in materials/inventory management, production scheduling, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge/experience in metal forming processes and quality control.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Directs single-site manufacturing operations for a metal stamping and metal fabrication business through a team of functional managers, front-line supervisors, and hands-on personnel. Accountable for maintaining company standards in production, quality, delivery, team execution, and employee experience. Utilizes human, technological, and financial resources to deliver high value to customers in a short-run, contract manufacturing environment. Leverages demonstrated skills and experience to contribute to the overall development, implementation, and execution of strategies for a single-location facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for meeting the monthly, quarterly, and annual production and shipping goals by directing and managing plant operations for materials, production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by planning and implementing processes and procedures that promote safety and ensure compliance by all team members.
  • Collaborate with corporate management to design, implement, and maintain organizational strategies that support the achievement of short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with on-site personnel and corporate management to identify, develop, implement, and manage human and capital investments that meet and exceed planned returns and qualitative goals.
  • Work with on-site and corporate personnel to recruit, train, and retain a team capable of achieving the quantitative and qualitative goals of the business unit.
  • Partner with on-site and corporate management to identify, analyze, implement, and maintain capital investments.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of strategic goals and objectives that drive local and company-wide success, delivering value to customers.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of process improvement and efficiency initiatives at both the local site and company-wide levels. Participate in and lead the collection and analysis of data to measure and improve company processes and the delivery of value to customers.
  • Collaborate with corporate, on-site, and sales personnel to develop, implement, and achieve a strategic sales plan with defined annual goals and objectives. Work closely with corporate and sales personnel to develop and maintain a client relationship matrix.
  • Collaborate with corporate personnel to develop, implement, and maintain qualitative and quantitative standards for the employee experience, including but not limited to:
    • Working with corporate personnel to acquire and retain qualified team members.
    • Collaborating with corporate personnel to assess and refine job descriptions that evolve with the dynamics of the role.
    • Contributing to the refinement and maintenance of consistent employment standards across the company.
    • Assisting corporate personnel in maintaining and enhancing the employee feedback and review system.
  • Performing other related duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred but not required.
  • Strong execution focus, bias for action and ability to handle competing priorities effectively and use good judgment in pressing situations.
  • 4+ years direct management experience including salaried employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in real-time performance feedback, coaching, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and preventive maintenance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in all facets of metal forming. These include but are not limited to identification and procurement of raw materials, application of production processes, quality control. Knowledge and experience of controlling manufacturing process maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
