The Team

The Hermès Manhasset Boutique will open in October 2026 and focuses on providing extraordinary service to clients in the New York Region. This position reports to the Managing Director and works collaboratively with the sales team and supporting staff to support the client experience in a fast‑paced, luxury environment.

The Opportunity

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational functions such as inventory control, housekeeping, maintenance, and support for selling service associates. The Manager is responsible for adhering to the P&L budget for all operational areas, communicates, trains and implements all company policies, and ensures compliance. The Operations Manager will create efficient processes, set parameters, and implement directives to support operational efficiency and growth.

All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

About the Role
  • Manages the shipping and receiving department, ensuring timely movement of merchandise and adherence to all procedural guidelines including transfers, RTVs, damages, and negative on hands.
  • Oversees and validates cash handling procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting to the Managing Director.
  • Coordinates the management of inventory control associates and other operational staff to maintain efficient back‑of‑house operations.
  • Assists in the absence of the Managing Director and Floor Directors during Podium, vacations, or absences of the Assistant Manager or Selling Supervisor.
  • Ensures workflow of after‑sales service and works with tailors/craftspeople as needed.
  • Performs inventories and cycle counts, including reconciling stock discrepancies and adjusting stock.
  • Acts as liaison with corporate construction, maintenance, and outside vendors on maintenance needs, ensuring store is maintained to company standard and issues are addressed promptly.
  • Maintains functionality of IT and phone systems, communicating with corporate contacts for resolution.
  • Manages operational team scheduling, training, coaching, and time‑keeping records in partnership with HR.
  • Coordinates and prepares evacuation drills and emergency response training for the team.
  • Oversees all operations and after‑sales supply orders and staff sales.
  • Recruits and maintains an active talent bank for operational positions.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Yes: supervises Inventory Control, SSA, and After‑Sales positions (Tailor, Maintenance, Craftspersons).
Budget Responsibility
  • Yes: Involved with budget expectations for selling supplies, cleaning and maintenance contracts, guard service, repairs, rental equipment, and kitchen supplies.
Decision‑Making Responsibility
  • Yes: Assesses when repairs or equipment upgrades are needed, determines actions for negative on hands, decides on supply orders and implements after‑sales tracking processes.
About You
  • 5+ years of retail management experience in a similar role; prior experience in a luxury environment preferred.
  • Proficient shipping and receiving experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong POS and phone systems knowledge.
  • Extensive building maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask with accuracy.
  • Acute interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Familiarity with international parent companies a plus.
  • Ability to lift between 0-25 lbs. without assistance.
  • Can perform key functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
Compensation Range

$79,123.00 - $96,706.00. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
