Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management or related field, or 4+ years in Transportation/Distribution.
• Working knowledge of truckload transportation operations.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and discipline personnel with documented records.
• Strong problem solving, organizational, time management and analytical skills.
• Fundamental computer skills: MS Word, Excel; willingness to learn TMW and other software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing and coordinating daily shipping, receiving, maintenance and all other operational activities at assigned locations.
• Recruit, train and manage drivers, tank wash, maintenance, dispatch, clerical and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
• Review expenditure and reports to identify opportunities to increase profits and improve processes.
• Provide scheduling support and monitor labor hours and cost of delivery and storage.
• Develop and implement training programs for operations staff and ensure ongoing staff development.
• Coordinate cross-training to ensure coverage and redundancy for essential personnel.
• Maintain records and ensure accuracy of operational data; assist with strategic planning.
