Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Taylorsville, MS seeks an Operations Manager for our plywood facility. You will drive safety, operational excellence, and team development, setting a clear vision for performance and continuous improvement through Principle-Based Management.

You will lead a dynamic operations team, manage budgets and forecasts, apply Lean, RCA, and preventive maintenance, and partner with leadership to deliver value and reliable production. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in industrial, manufacturing, or military environments.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; able to quickly learn new production/operations software.
• Willingness and ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment (noisy, temperature variable).
• Proven experience in employee performance management and change management.
• Experience formulating business improvement strategies that achieve results.

Responsibilities

• Champion a culture of injury-free, incident-free operations using PBM principles.
• Optimize production processes using the MPO Process System for efficiency and value.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing operations team with regular performance reviews.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and strategic reviews using data-driven decisions.
• Utilize Lean, RCA, and preventive/predictive maintenance to identify opportunities.
• Build ownership culture and accountability at all levels across the facility.
• Develop job plans, monitor completion, and promote proactive reliability initiatives.
