Job summary

Gardens Alive Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee inventory, yard operations, and facilities at the garden center. You will ensure efficient product flow, safe grounds, and smooth daily operations while driving efficiency, compliance, and staff development.

You will collaborate with staff and management to maintain exceptional customer experiences, lead safety initiatives, and optimize departmental performance through planning and hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager to set department goals supporting sales, profitability, and service standards.
• Lead daily operations for inventory, receiving, facilities, and yard logistics.
• Oversee payroll, scheduling, and hiring processes to meet budgets and coverage needs.
• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture through communication, coaching, and feedback.
• Address employee and customer concerns, coordinating with SM, HR, and Retail Home Office.
• Uphold appearance standards, including uniforms and professional presentation.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) with opening/closing and priority setting.
• Oversee inventory flow from receiving to sales floor, storage, pickup, and delivery.
• Lead inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and annual inventories.
• Collaborate with department leads to restocking and inventory accuracy.
• Manage ordering, receiving, placement, and documentation for bulk and bagged goods.
• Coordinate with Wholesale Manager to handle green goods for special orders.
