Job summary

Confidential in Denver is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the aftermarket pump service and repair facility. You will provide full leadership for the Denver team, including engineers, machinists, mechanics and office staff, and drive the annual business plan with a focus on expenses, utilization and productivity.

You will partner with senior leadership in a matrix environment, collaborate with Sales on quotations, ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery, mentor talent, and pursue

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• :· Full leadership responsibility for the Denver aftermarket pump service and repair facility that handles custom repairs
• .· Actively manage all personnel, including exempt and non-exempt, mechanics, machinists, engineers, and office staff
• .· Ensure the annual business plan, including expense management, utilization, and productivity, is met or exceeded
• .· Actively partner with leadership in a matrix environment, thereby having a strong influence on the operations and strategy of the team in collaboration with Sales, developing strong working relationships
• .· Effectively interact with the shop and communicate with all employees on a daily basis
• .· Attract, identify, develop and retain organization/department talent in an ongoing effort to support the growth philosophy. This includes employee performance management, succession planning, and individual mentoring and development
• .· Develop and implement process improvements, which continuously improve on-time delivery, reduce operating and product costs, and reduce product lead times
• .· Collaborate effectively with the sales force on quotations
• .· Interface with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver a superior customer experience. This includes a willingness to participate in sales calls
• .· Ensure quality goals are met for our products/services
• .· Implement and manage safety policies and guidelines for employees and the facility

.EXPERIENCE

• :· Ideal candidate will have a background working in a custom job shop environment with hands-on, large pump repair, with the ability to troubleshoot pumps or rotating equipment issues
• .· Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience managing profit/loss
• .· Demonstrated leadership ability in a manufacturing environment, ability to delegate effectively in a team environment, to mentor and develop others, and have a high level of collaboration and interaction with the sales team

• :· 10 years of pump industry and/or rotating equipment and manufacturing processes
• .· Proven leadership skills with the ability to create a collaborative, positive culture
• .· Good communication skills with all employees and executive management
• .· MS Office Suite and ERP System proficiency

• Candidate should have earned credibility through firsthand shop-floor experience and successfully grown their careers into operational leadership within a custom industrial repair environment
• .Deep technical understanding of pump repair, rotating equipment, machining, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• .Demonstrated success leading exempt and non-exempt employees, including machinists, mechanics, engineers, and support staff
• .Strong business acumen with direct P&L ownership, budgeting, productivity, utilization, and cost center management experience
