Job description

Assist the Director of Operations with support with all Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County facilities. The Operations Manager will be the first point of contact for any facilities issues and coordinate/schedule with outside vendors.

Possess knowledge of compliance and safety, highly organized with effective communication skills and experience with policy development. Serves as Safety Officer and 504 Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Assist the Director of Operations in all aspects of facility related project implementation as needed, such as gathering information related to space requirements and/or move requirements and works with departments gathering their needs.
  • Assist with developing and managing move plans, space assignments, infrastructure plans, cabling locations, construction requirements, cost estimates and timelines for all projects.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for locations.
  • Ensures ADA and safety standards are followed throughout all facilities, by conducting facilities audits, furniture layouts, and room configurations.
  • Ensure all fire safety and security systems are fully operational and maintained at the operating level.
  • Ensures that all required and necessary tasks, inspections, tests, and maintenance of equipment and building systems are performed by vendors and employees in the required period as required by outside regulatory guidelines and agencies.
  • Ensures an efficient system of property management control and activities consisting of receiving, delivering, transportation, pick-up, storage, shipment and unloading of furniture and equipment. Provides recommendations for improvement of processes.
  • Function as liaison between staff and any outside vendors/contractors needed to resolve issues.
  • Assists with furniture layout possibilities in new and/or renovated spaces, provides budgetary cost estimates and permits documents for construction if needed.
  • Assists with developing procurement processes and agreements for all Operations Department projects
  • Assists with maintaining files, drawings and as-built drawings for all locations.
  • Maintains and tracks assets by working with Finance to reconcile equipment and property purchases.
  • Use a ticket tracking system to triage facilities tickets and document resolution and communication with staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of skills, processes and best practices in area of responsibility
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate regularly with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Staff.
  • Monitor and review activities of the Board and its subrecipients to ensure they do not violate nondiscrimination & EO obligations under WIOA Title I and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, or their implementing regulations.
  • Work with the Board E.O. Officer to ensure Board policies are nondiscriminatory.
  • Report directly to appropriate officials on 504 matters, including the Executive Director and the State.
  • Attend training to maintain competency knowledge on EO and 504 regulations.
  • Work directly with Vocational Rehabilitation and Board’s EO Officer to resolve all 504 customer complaints.
  • Work with VR staff in developing training for designated population groups at Workforce Centers.
  • Review centers ADA equipment to verify they are in working order and submit recommendations for the purchase of essential adaptive equipment.
  • Assist Vocational Rehabilitation Staff with presentations to staff.
  • Responsible for training staff on ADA equipment.
  • Responsible for researching, evaluating and purchasing all essential adaptive equipment.
  • Reports directly to the LWDB’s Executive Director about 504 matters.
SAFETY OFFICER
  • Develop systems to eliminate or control workplace hazards that could cause injuries or illness.
  • Create a hazard free work environment or, if hazards are unavoidable, implement measures to mitigate their effects.
  • Work toward creating a safe and healthy workplace environment.

Knowledge of:

Driving may be required. Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

Education/Experience

High school diploma/G.E.D. and three (3) years of project management

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Math Ability

Ability to calculate figures and to apply concepts of basic mathematics.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following:

  • Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams highly preferred
Certificates and Licenses

Current and valid driver’s license required.
