Job summary

Jobtailor in Oklahoma is seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to lead warehousing, quality, and safety initiatives. You will manage staff, drive process improvements with Lean Six Sigma, and ensure OSHA-compliant practices across the facility.

You will guide supervisors, hire and develop staff, and coordinate with customers and vendors to meet commitments while maintaining stringent records and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement.

Job description

  • Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure customer commitments are met
  • Demonstrate understanding of GXO’s quality policies and establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives
  • Provide guidance to supervisors regarding personnel, quality and safety
  • Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively
  • Recommend programs to improve operations
  • Handle equipment and coordinate maintenance needs with the maintenance team
  • Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner
  • Adhere to and enforce safe work practices and ensure warehouse compliance with OSHA and other pertinent standards and regulations
Requirements
  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience with computerized scanner equipment
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field
  • 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience
  • Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments
  • Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills
  • Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
  • Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
  • Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
  • Conditional offer recipients may be required to take and pass a pre-employment drug test
