Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Operations Manager to lead university campus food service operations. You will ensure resources, equipment, and inventory are available to deliver high-quality meals and service.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage financials while achieving set goals. A flexible schedule and proactive safety oversight are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management level food service production experience.
• Experience leading, supervising, training, and coordinating the activities of others.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in nutrition, food service management, health administration, dietetics or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily food service operations to ensure team has equipment, inventory, and resources.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards to deliver top service and food quality.
• Supervise cash handling, including balancing the safe fund and cash register audits.
• Maintain production records such as par levels, waste logs, and temperature logs.
• Supervise all team members and manage the crew effectively.
• Monitor safety and sanitation to meet Federal, State, and Local regulations.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and attentively.
• Manage inventory and budget, control costs, and adjust as needed to meet goals.
• Complete all required paperwork promptly.
• Enforce all safety requirements at accounts and wear PPE as needed.

AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimistic leader to fill the role of Operations Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Direct daily food service operations to ensure team members have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources to perform their jobs in a university campus setting
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures so that our guests receive the highest level of service and food quality
• Supervise all aspects of cash handling to include the balancing of the safe fund and cash register audits
• Maintain production records such as par levels, waste logs, and temperature logs
• Supervise all team members
• Monitor safety and sanitation standards to meet Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
• Handle customer complaints properly and promptly by being attentive to suggestions and requests
• Manage inventory and the budget by controlling costs and complying with budget requirements and making adjustments when necessary
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
• Follow and enforce all safety requirements at accounts, which may include personal protection equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.

Requirements:

• 3 or more years of management level food service production experience
• Previous experience leading, supervising, training, and coordinating the activities of others
• A degree in nutrition, food service management, health administration, dietetics or related field is preferred
• Willingness and desire to take an involved, hands-on approach with leading the business
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
• The ability to work a flexible schedule
• Previous management experience required
• Ability to manage financials and achieve goals
• Excellent communication skills for communicating with fellow workers and customers
• Ability to effectively work independently and utilize time efficiently
• Problem solver
• Valid Driver's License with good driving history
