Job summary

Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee front-of-house operations including breakfast, banquets, catering and front desk activities, aligning with HHM standards and EarthView sustainability.

The role focuses on training and coaching associates, managing schedules, controlling labor and food costs, and ensuring client satisfaction at events; you may work as Manager on Duty and drive safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates to brand standards and HHM values.
• Ensure quality standards of complimentary breakfast service.
• Coordinate banquet events according to client requests.
• Assist Front Desk Manager with front office scheduling.
• Manage labor and food costs to meet budgets/forecasts.
• Receive and inspect third-party catering orders.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed.
• Follow EarthView sustainability guidelines.
• Follow MSDS and OSHA safety standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Front Desk Supervisor – Front Office Manager – Assistant General Manager

Your Focus

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
• Ensure quality standards of complimentary food service stations are maintained.
• Attend weekly meetings to ensure banquet event details are carried out consistent with client requests.
• Assist Front Desk Manager & Front Office Supervisor in creating Front Office Schedule.
• Manage labor and food cost expenses to fit within budgets and/or updated forecasts.
• Receive and inspect food orders from third party catering companies.
• Position will work shifts crossing over from Breakfast Attendant to Guest Service Agent.
• Create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely action plans to remedy guest service deficiencies.
• Work as Manager on Duty, when necessary.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background and Skill

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of related experience.

Work Environment and Context

• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
