Job summary

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® in Springfield, Illinois, is seeking an energetic Operations Manager to lead the operations team and support daily business activities. You will mentor movers, drivers, and trainers, oversee onboarding and training, scheduling, dispatch, and fleet maintenance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with the General Manager to drive revenue and profitability, oversee warehouse operations, and maintain a dynamic, customer-focused workplace.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in operations or logistics.
• 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record and ability to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate and Non-CDL Class C.
• Willing to work a five-day work week with every other Saturday off.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Coach, motivate, develop, and manage movers, drivers, and trainers and hold the team accountable.
• Conduct interviews, hire, and oversee onboarding and training of employees.
• Hold regular meetings with operations teams.
• Manage employee scheduling, truck assignments, and dispatch of moving crews.
• Coordinate and direct fleet maintenance and equipment inventory.
• Promote and ensure compliance with safety procedures, DOT regulations, and FMCSA guidelines.
• Develop strategic sales growth plans with the General Manager to meet revenue and profit objectives.
• Oversee warehouse/storage management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

What You'll Do

Who We're Looking For

• Highly motivated, driven individual with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with effective communication skills
• Preferably 3+ years of experience in operations or logistics
• A minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role required
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to drive company vehicles, and obtain Medical Examiners Certificate and Non-CDL Class C
• Proficient with MS Office, cloud-based storage, digital forms, and phone apps
• Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Willing to work a five-day work week with every other Saturday off
