Job summary

Abacus Solutions Group in Southaven is seeking an Operations Manager for a large apparel brand. This temporary-to-permanent role starts ASAP. You will lead a multi-station production department, manage inventory and replenishment, and drive lean improvements to ensure timely, quality order completion and delivery.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of operations leadership, LEAN/Six Sigma experience, and a track record of guiding up to 100 associates, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the Fulfillment Operations Group in achieving goals for order processing, quality assurance, inventory, purchasing, cost management, layouts, improvements and training.
• Collaborate with Site Director to influence corporate strategic plans.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.
• Maintain a safety-focused culture within the facility.
• Set and achieve productivity and quality KPIs; drive lean processes.
• Manage, train, and develop facility managers and supervisors; handle performance and discipline.
• Oversee seasonal staffing relationships and advise on labor needs.
• Manage budget for the value stream and perform other duties as assigned.

Abacus Solutions Group is currently sourcing for an Operations Manager for a large, growing apparel brand in the Southaven area. This is a temporary to permanent position looking to start ASAP!

Compensation: $90k - $95k

The Operations Manager provides leadership and supervision to a highly efficient, multi-station production department. This includes, but is not limited to, managing inventory and replenishment, overseeing the production process (including the intake of customer orders, and ensuring the timeliness and quality of order completion and delivery to customers. The Operations Manager also ensures that departmental and support personnel are focused on continuous improvement and supports a lean culture of inventory, people, and processes.

• Lead and direct the Fulfillment Operations Group in the achievement of key goals in the area of order processing and delivery, quality assurance management, inventory management, purchasing management, cost management, process layouts, process improvements and employee training and development.
• Work with the Site Director to influence corporate strategic plans.
• Work with functional leaders within the company to ensure compliance to company policy and procedures.
• Ensure that the facility is compliant with Federal/ State/ local ordinances, laws and regulations.
• Ensure that safety is always a strong part of the culture and environment within the facility.
• Obtain annual, monthly, and daily goals for various productivity and quality levels.
• Lead the Fulfillment group to operate in a cost-effective and competitive manner while driving continuous improvement.
• Manage, train, and develop the facility managers and supervisors in hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems or removing obstacles.
• Actively contributes to the development of direct reports.
• Full work week responsibility of client or clients (including 2nd shift & weekend/donut shifts if applicable).
• Lead Individual Performance Management program for area.
• Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
• Promote and develop a culture of continuous improvement within the value stream.
• Deliver productivity and improvements in line with KPIs.
• Ownership of lean process improvement and CI initiatives.
• Ensure all training and skills development programs, along with all Standard Operating Procures (SOPs) within the value stream are up to date and maintained.
• Promote a culture of high accountability, engagement, and associate empowerment.
• Manage relationship with on-site seasonal staffing representatives and advise director of operations on seasonal labor needs.
• Budget management for value stream.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Site Director.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred / HS Degree or GED required.
• Experience working with process improvement ideologies, e.g., LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar / Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive Operations experience in a manager role.
• Experience leading up to 100 associates.
• Experience in creating productivity improvement through continuous improvement efforts.
• Ability to be flexible, collaborative, and drive performance.
• Analyze data to identify defects and root cause analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
