Job summary

MTM Transit in Sebring, FL seeks a Manager of Operations to lead staffing, training, and strategic processes ensuring safe, efficient daily transportation within contract requirements. You’ll oversee drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance to meet client needs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in transit management, with experience in supervising hourly personnel and familiarity with ADA, DOT, and FTA regulations. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee drivers, dispatchers and operations staff to ensure safe, efficient service.
  • Conduct monthly Safety meetings and update policies and safety guidelines.
  • Train, retrain and update staff on procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform driver evaluations as required by contract and regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with the client to maintain positive relationships and coordinate upgrades.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and monitor direct reports for coaching.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and maintain high attendance standards.

What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Manager, Operations will play a key role in the management, training, and development of staff and implementation of short and long-term strategic processes. The Manager, Operations will oversee all aspects of the operations staff, primarily the drivers, maintenance, and dispatch staff to ensure that the daily operations and needs of the client are effective, efficient, and are completed based on contractual requirements. The Manager, Operations will strive to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers while operating within the budget of the contract.

What you’ll do:
  • Oversight of Drivers, Dispatchers, and operations employees and their daily performance, to ensure safe, efficient, effective operation, including scheduling, expenditures, attendance and discipline
  • Perform monthly Safety meetings
  • Training, retraining and updates to policies, procedures and safety guidelines
  • Perform Driver evaluations as required by contract, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements
  • Communicate regularly with client to ensure positive productive relationship, and to assist them with updates, information, and system upgrades as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required
  • Monitor performance of direct reports and provide coaching and guidance
What you’ll need:
  • Experience, Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in transit management
  • Previous experience working with senior citizens or persons with disabilities
  • Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment
  • Experience training in a classroom and behind the wheel setting
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Skills: Strong problem solving skills Ability to understand and administer discipline
  • Knowledge of basic safety and training procedures
  • Map reading, two-way radio communication and driving experience preferably in a demand responsive service environment
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Even better if you have... Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or livery industries preferred
  • Capabilities as it relates to data analytics preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations preferred

Minium Salary: $55,000/annually Maximum Salary: $65,000/annually This information reflects the base salary pay range for this job based on current national market data. Ranges may vary based on the job's location. We offer competitive pay that varies based on individual skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
