Mr. Greens Produce is seeking an Operations Manager to lead Shipping, Receiving, Transportation, and Facility teams in San Antonio. You will manage people, performance, and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

You will oversee inventory, compliance with food safety standards, and customer delivery performance, while driving safety and staff development in a fast-moving distribution environment.

Qualifications

• 6 years of professional experience with progressive management roles, including 4–5 years in operations management.
• Experience in warehouse and transportation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day distribution center operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Develop and implement policies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to maintain stock.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, train, and evaluate warehouse staff to promote safety and productivity.
• Analyze data to identify improvements and apply best practices in warehousing and logistics.
• Utilize technology and automation to streamline processes and accuracy.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery and resolve customer issues promptly.
• Promote a safe working environment with ongoing safety audits and training.
• Develop and manage the operations budget and report KPIs.

Mr. Greens has proudly grown into one of the largest privately‑owned produce distributors in San Antonio, Texas, delivering 365 days a year, 7‑day operations with multiple runs per day. The company serves restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, grocery stores, and retail outlets.

General Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the effective operation of the Shipping, Receiving, Transportation, and Facility departments. In this role you will lead all facets of managing people, performance/productivity, operating expense reduction, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Management
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the distribution center, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of food products.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
• Team Leadership
  • Lead, train, and manage a warehouse and logistics staff, promoting a culture of safety, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages employee engagement and development.
• Process Improvement
  • Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement best practices in warehouse management, logistics, and supply chain operations.
  • Utilize technology and automation to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
• Customer Service
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to understand customer needs and preferences.
• Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure a safe working environment by promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
• Budget and Financial Management
  • Develop and manage the operations budget, monitoring expenses and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement measures to achieve financial targets.

Requirements

• 6 years of professional experience with demonstrated progressive levels of management experience, including at least 4‑5 years in operational management.
• Experience in warehouse and transportation preferred.
