Jellis is seeking a Waterpark Operations Manager to oversee daily facility operations, supervise lifeguards, maintenance, and guest services. The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and incident response across all park departments.

You'll direct a large staff, ensure safety standards, and partner with senior management to drive smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences at our Kentucky waterpark.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Lifeguarding experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily park operations with General Manager and other departments, including staffing, opening/closing procedures, staffing schedules, and activity coordination.
  • Review and approve financial documents for accuracy including purchase orders, invoices, expense reports and petty cash transactions.
  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, coach and discipline staff; maintain adequate, trained, motivated staff.
  • Oversee general maintenance of facility and equipment; ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Attend weekly operating meetings with managers; provide reports on ride operations, attendance, and safety.
  • Supervise lifeguards, waterpark attractions, 1st Aid, parking, security, landscaping, and daily park operations.

Job description

Waterpark Operations Manager with proven management experience in Industry categories focusing all aspects of lifeguarding, 1stAid, Park Service, Pool Cleaning, Cabana Service, Security, Parking, Landscaping, and day to day Operations.

The manager must have excellent guest service skills with experience directing a large staff, solving issues, guest relations, cooperation and integration with senior management and all other inter related departments. Applicant mustbe self-motivated, a self-starterand prepared to produce results.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operations of the entire facility in cooperation with GeneralManager and other departments which includes Staffing, opening and closing procedures, employee retention, staffing schedules, and coordination of all activities
  • Review and approve financial documents for accuracy including purchase orders, invoices, expense reports and petty cash transactions
  • Recruit, hire,evaluate, coachand discipline staff
  • Maintain adequate, trained and motivated staff
  • Oversee general maintenance of facility and equipment
  • Attends weekly operating meetings with all managers
  • Over-site of lifeguards, waterpark attractions, 1st Aid, Pool Cleanliness, EAP, parking, security, landscaping, and daily security of park
  • Provide weekly reports: ride operations/attendance/throughput, 1st Aid, Rotations, lifeguarding, Security, Park operations
  • Schedules staff and assigns duties
  • Trains and instructs staff on the different processes, procedures
    • Assist in setting/creating policies and procedures with Park Manager
    • Host and Instruct weekly in-service training for key staff
    • Audit ride operators weekly on safety and techniques
    • Audit park a minimum once a month on the Emergency Action Plan running full park drills.
    • Audit ride operators to key positions assure proper procedures, communication and vigilant scanning is occurring.
  • Maintain all logs, files, reports, communications and electronic data relating to water quality inspections, lifeguarding, accidents, safety checks, employee warnings, maintenance reports and any other general daily reports.
  • Perform all training under the park approved association program, successfully master the program, implement to all operators and support staff, and insure strict compliance to program standards.
  • Oversight for all cleanliness of entire facility including pools, deck areas, parking lot, assist with restrooms, maintenance rooms, and storage rooms.
Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of budgeting and financial accounting
  • Available nights, weekends and holidays
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Lifeguarding experience preferred
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
  • Certified Pool Operator (or)
  • Aquatic Facility Operator
  • Lifeguard Instructor (or ability to successfully pass within 90 days of
  • employment)
  • CPR, AED, O2 (Or equivalent)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and climb without any difficulty
  • Able to lift and drag up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Able to work in team environment as a team member and as team leader
