Advancia Government Services is seeking an Operations Manager in Lee’s Summit, MO to lead daily project operations and ensure contract performance excellence. You will implement policies, supervise supervisors and clerks, and coordinate with management to optimize resources while maintaining high quality.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in operations/project management, PMP or Six Sigma Green Belt, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass background checks.
  • Three years of recent operations/project/site management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or PMP in lieu; Six Sigma Green Belt within 180 days.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

Job description

Position Title: Operations Manager
Location: Lee’s Summit, MO
Division: Advancia Government Services
This position is contingent upon contract award
Position Summary:

The Operations Manager will identify and proactively prevent issues that can detract from or degrade the contract performance. This position will promote best practices and processes, in accordance with company policies and procedures, to increase productivity with the most efficient use of resources while ensuring a consistently high quality of performance is maintained. This position will work with other supervisors and the leadership/management team to ensure positive employee morale is maintained. This position requires demonstrated experience in addressing operational concerns and issues, monitoring overall customer satisfaction; experience with developing and implementing operational procedures and policies; and analyzing training needs/requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Have excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities.
  • Able to present oral briefings to Government oversite personnel.
  • Have excellent writing skills to prepare SOPs and revisions.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal ability to communicate with others effectively.
  • Be able to conduct fact finding for special projects, respond timely inquiries from the Government and present written/oral briefings to management officials.
  • Be able to work with detailed and time-sensitive issues.
  • Demonstrate good decision-making skills and respond to high-pressure situations.
  • Overall operations management of supervisors and clerks.
  • Plan and organize the daily workload to maximize efficiency and to stay in compliance with
  • contractual standards and alert management about staffing short falls or overages via weekly meetings.
  • Mentor supervisors and clerks.
  • Assist the QC Manager with quality control activities and participate in the implementation of corrective measures on any deficient work elements.
  • Foster a high-performance team environment where people are treated with respect and dignity.
  • The desire to drive, develop, and grow by planning and initiating own cross-training.
  • Organize monthly meetings with the management team.
  • Abides by all company safety regulations.
  • In person meetings within two (2) business hours notice.
  • Available 24/7 via phone (email, text, and call) in case of emergency.
  • Act as the Program Manager in the Program Manager’s absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • This is a public trust position which requires the ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, ability to pass a post offer employment physical abilities test; ability to pass government background security clearance check (includes a credit check); must be able to retain a government public trust security level clearance; must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
  • Must have three (3) years of recent (over the last 5 years) overall project/operations/site/production management experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines: program management, business or public administration, production/operations/manufacturing/quality management, technical management, information systems, engineering, or finance/accounting.
  • Will allow a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, as certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI), in lieu of the educational requirements.
  • Must possess, or successfully obtain within 180 days of contract award, a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook)
  • Self-Motivated- Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one's ability using his or her own drive or initiative
  • Communication - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Time Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
  • Goal Oriented -Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result
  • Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those an employee would encounter while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. Normally subjected to inside (warehouse) environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Adherence to OSHA guidelines is mandatory, and as such, donning of protective equipment/gear may be required.

Physical Demands (including but not limited to):

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to physically lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with corrections if necessary.
