Job summary

GEODIS is seeking an Operations Manager Final Mile in Hebron Estates, KY to lead daily operations for local and regional home delivery networks. You will oversee a fleet, supervise staff, track KPIs, and drive cost control while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes cross-functional coordination with customer service and sales, ensuring on-time delivery, minimal damage, and high customer satisfaction across food and non-food accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience with warehouse management systems preferred.
• Experience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives preferred.
• Lean certifications preferred.
• PC literate with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for local and regional big and bulky home delivery networks.
• Maintain a well-kept fleet and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Reduce damage, missed windows, and return costs.
• Track metrics like On-Time Delivery, cost-per-stop, and revenue per truck.
• Resolve high-escalation customer complaints regarding damages or delays.
• Submit work orders for repairs and equipment replacement as needed.
• Coordinate warehouse activities with customer service and sales.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive communication with clients.
• Ensure safe warehouse operation meeting sanitation, maintenance, safety, and security standards.
• Drive operational excellence across warehouse areas and systems.
• Collaborate with engineering on warehouse layout and product placement.
• Monitor KPIs to ensure profitability and productivity of the DC.
• Oversee staffing, training, coaching, and development for employees.
• Report hours to Payroll weekly; manage interviewing, hiring, and training of staff.
• Ensure compliance with CTPAT, ISO, AIB, and other certifications.
• Manage budget and P&L of the operation.
• Address complaints and resolve problems promptly.
• For food accounts, report safety concerns to senior management.

Your role on the team:

• Lead daily operations for local and regional big and bulky home delivery networks.
• Maintain a well-kept fleet of delivery trucks and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Reduce damage rates, missed delivery windows, and return product costs.
• Track key metrics like On-Time Delivery (OTD), cost-per-stop, and revenue per truck.
• Resolve high-escalation customer complaints regarding damaged property or late arrivals
• Ensures work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment are submitted to the appropriate persons
• Confers with others to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functional areas such as customer service and sales
• Partners with the customer to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by communicating frequently with customers and following up on customer concerns and requests
• Ensures safe operation of the warehouse including meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, safety, and security
• Ensures operational excellence in all warehouse areas, related equipment, and warehouse management systems
• Leads an efficient and successful operations while successfully mitigating any barriers to success
• Partners with engineering to implement and maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placement
• Monitors and ensures facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure the profitability and productivity of the distribution center
• Ensures adequate staffing, training, coaching and development for employees
• Reports employees' hours worked to Payroll on a weekly basis
• Provides hands on management of the distribution center including interviewing, hiring, and training Supervisory and hourly staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance to create a strong company culture
• Ensures compliance with CTPAT, ISO, AIB, and others regulatory certifications as applicable
• Effectively manages the budget and P&L of the operation
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems
• For food accounts, incumbent is responsible to report food safety problems to senior management to initiate action

What you need:

• Experience with warehouse management systems preferred
• Experience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives preferred
• Lean certifications preferred
• Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
