Job summary

Rebuilding Together Howard County seeks an Operations Manager to oversee daily nonprofit operations from Columbia, MD. You will be the hub for volunteers, clients, and partners, ensuring smooth information flow, records, and communications across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of nonprofit administration, office management, or operations experience.
• Excellent organization and reliability; takes ownership of work.
• Clear, warm communication across diverse people and situations.
• Discretion with confidential information and professionalism.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently on a small team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce and/or QuickBooks a plus.
• You may occasionally support evening or weekend events (3–4 times per year).

• Serve as the first point of contact for volunteers, clients, and community partners by phone, email, and in person
• Process client applications, verify eligibility, and maintain accurate case files
• Manage volunteer registration, confirmation, and communication before and after projects
• Maintain and update the Salesforce database, including clients, volunteers, donors, and grants
• Assist with financial recordkeeping in QuickBooks, including payments, deposits, and vendor files
• Support the team with grant reporting, proposal assembly, and donor correspondence
• Prepare materials for various meetings and maintain documentation / files
• Help coordinate events including Rebuilding Day and our annual recognition celebration
• Keep the office running smoothly with organized systems, supplies, and clear communication

Operations Manager | Full-time | Columbia, MD

Rebuilding Together Howard County repairs homes for low-income homeowners, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities. The Operations Manager plays a central role in the daily operations of Rebuilding Together Howard County, keeping systems, information, and communications running smoothly across the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Serve as the first point of contact for volunteers, clients, and community partners by phone, email, and in person
