KOST USA is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team! We are looking for a self-motivated, professional, and organized individual who enjoys detailed work and a fast-paced environment. As an Operations Manager, the focus will be to manage all aspects (packaging and blending production) of the operating plant. Ensuring that the plant operates efficiently, according to schedule, and in compliance with all operating and safety policies and procedures.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Maximizing efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration of site(s).
  • Setting and executing goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Analyzing current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary.
  • Responsible for all packaging and blending production.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring day-to-day operational systems, KPI’s and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity.
  • Planning, monitoring, and analyzing key metrics for the day-to-day performance within areas of responsibility to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Devising strategies to ensure growth of programs site-wide, identifying and implementing process improvements/equipment that will maximize output and minimize costs.
  • Upholding organization policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed.
  • Working closely with human resources to lead the team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with experience in the chemical or related fields an asset.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role in manufacturing and ideally in the packaging industry.
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles and employee management.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with budget and business plan development.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity.
  • Result orientated problem-solving skills with an extensive background in Continuous Improvement proven methods.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills both within operations and other departments.
  • Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings and plant floor to boardroom.
  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software.
