Job summary

Beacon Mobility is seeking a Transportation Operations Lead for our Brattleboro, VT office. This on-site role focuses on building strong relationships with school districts, coordinating staffing, and maintaining safety culture while ensuring operational excellence for buses and vans.

The ideal candidate will drive resource planning, oversee payroll/billing processes, and hire/train transportation coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact to school districts and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Interview, hire, and train transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Build a pipeline of internal talent for future roles.
• Prepare monthly work schedules and maintain staffing levels for drivers and monitors.
• Ensure all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing.
• Coordinate with fleet maintenance to keep vans and buses safe and operational.
• Review and prepare billing and payroll each month.

About the Role

• Serve as the primary contact to the school districts and ensure strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the school districts.
• Effective and frequent communication with staff ensures employees have available resources to meet the daily operational task successfully.
• Partners with safety leaders to establish and maintain a 'safety-first' culture.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics.
• Interview, hire, and train new transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of internal talent for next-level positions.
• Prepare monthly work schedules.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors by driving a positive work culture.
• Ensure all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing.
• Work with fleet maintenance to keep vans and buses operational and safe.
• Review and prepare billing and payroll each month.

About You

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in operations management, business administration, or related field.
• Progressive work experience in a work environment that is fast paced.
• Management of hourly staff, and responsible for managing metrics.
• Proficient experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Maintain a good driving record and enjoy working in an environment that is 100% committed to supporting our students.
• Self-motivated, show initiative and have a strong work ethic.
• Must be comfortable with early-morning hours.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills and can successfully supervise and direct teams.
• Effective customer service and conflict resolution skills.

Salary up to: $95,000
