Known as the "Amazon for Chemicals," Lab Alley is a rapidly growing, founder-led e-commerce platform built to make purchasing high-purity chemical compounds effortless, transparent, and fast.

In this role, you will lead daily warehouse and downpacking operations-spanning bulk receiving, blending, inventory accuracy, and HazMat shipping-while maintaining a culture rooted in safety, speed, and continuous improvement. If you thrive where logical systems meet fast-paced logistics, we want you on our leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Direct Leadership

  • Operational Execution: Oversee daily receiving, downpacking, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping to maintain 99.5%+ on-time delivery and 98.9%+ inventory accuracy.

  • Team Management & Development: Direct, mentor, and scale a high-performing production & warehouse team. Directly supervise two key leaders: Production Supervisor and Shipping Supervisor.

  • Labor & Performance: Handle scheduling, cross-training, shift planning, and regular performance evaluations to optimize labor hours and throughput.

Compliance, Safety & Carrier Management

  • HazMat & Regulatory Leadership: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and federal/international regulations regarding hazardous materials handling (DOT, IATA, OSHA).

  • Carrier & Logistics Coordination: Partner with small parcel (UPS, FedEx) and freight forwarders to optimize freight costs, maintain transit SLAs, and resolve carrier delays.

Process Optimization & Inventory Integrity

  • Lean & Continuous Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement Lean/5S workflows to boost throughput, lower cost-per-order, and reduce waste.

  • ERP & Cycle Count Management: Lead cycle counts and reconciliation audits to guarantee real-time physical inventory aligns with our ERP platform.

  • Data-Driven Mindset: Proven ability to monitor and leverage KPIs (order cycle time, pick accuracy, cost-per-unit) to optimize daily capacity.
