Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a Management Trainee to join our Operations Management Trainee Program. This entry-level role begins with a rigorous 16-week training designed to prepare you for leadership responsibilities in operations.

As you progress, you will relocate to a new facility for your first leadership position, complete a guided training program, and work closely with Support Centers, Service Centers, Account Managers, and drivers to learn the freight delivery process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or alternatively, have at least two years of related work experience.
• An acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards is essential.
• The role demands flexibility with a readiness to relocate as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening abilities, and a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Basic computer skills are necessary, along with a very strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Learn the basic principles of the transportation industry, efficient cross-dock operations, effective leadership communication, and relationship-building skills under a mentor.
• Relocate to another facility for the first leadership role in Operations after program completion.
• Complete the leadership training program with guided, independent study.
• Interface with Support Center and Service Center associates in the training program.
• Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
• Accompany drivers on local delivery routes to understand the freight delivery process.
