American Iron & Metal (AIM) seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead operations in a high-volume metals recycling environment. You will drive yard performance, ensure safe, compliant processes, and coordinate production, logistics and quality functions.

You will promote continuous improvement, manage staff across shifts, and partner with leadership to optimize profitability and long-term growth. A hands-on leader with strong communication excels here.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in heavy-industrial, metals, recycling or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of metal recycling processes and yard operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving yard, production and processing goals by executing operational plans.
• Coordinate daily workflow across receiving, processing, shipping and equipment operation.
• Provide hands-on support to keep operations flowing.
• Coach, mentor and develop employees at all levels.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance; resolve issues promptly.
• Prepare and submit operational and performance reports.
