Job summary

West is seeking a Director of Operations in Grand Rapids to lead the operational planning and strategy for a key customer account. You will manage day-to-day operations, serve on the Customer/West governance team, and drive cost efficiencies and lean improvements across sites.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering or supply chain, and a minimum of ten years in operations management within medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field in engineering or supply chain management.
• Minimum of ten years of operations management in process-based manufacturing for medical devices/pharmaceuticals.
• Experience supervising up to 10 direct reports and 100+ indirect staff.
• Experience in regulated industry (FDA/EMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational planning and strategy for customer account and ensure successful execution.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations and serve as point of contact for governance.
• Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term strategies across multi-site network.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, cost, delivery and service while minimizing costs.
• Provide monthly performance reports and track progress of initiatives.
• Oversee asset capitalization strategy, optimization, and technology advancements.
• Collaborate with leadership to align best practices and enterprise excellence.
