Job summary

INNIO is establishing a new Jenbacher assembly operation in Waukesha, WI. The Operations Leader will direct day‑to‑day generator and unit assembly, build an engaged, accountable team, and drive safety, quality, and productivity during ramp‑up.

A rotation to Jenbach, Austria will develop knowledge and align with the global manufacturing team. The role requires a hands‑on manufacturing leader with experience guiding lean initiatives, cross‑functional coordination, and scalable workforce

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in complex mechanical, electrical, or engineered-product assembly.
  • Experience with ERP or MES (Oracle preferred).
  • Willingness to train at Jenbacher facility in Jenbach, Austria.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop production technicians; set safety, quality, productivity expectations.
  • Own daily production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
  • Own KPIs across Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost/Productivity.
  • Apply Lean principles (standard work, 5S, waste reduction) and support NPI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness.

The Operations Leader – Generator & Unit Assembly

will play a key leadership role inestablishingand growing our new Jenbacher assembly operation in Waukesha, Wisconsin. This position willleadthe day-to-day execution of generator and unit assembly while helping develop the people, processes, standards, and operating culture needed to support long-term production growth.

The successful candidate will be a visible, hands‑on manufacturing leader who can build an engaged and accountable team, solve problems, and deliver results.

As part of the initial production ramp‑up, this role will also complete an assignment at our Jenbacher manufacturing operation in Jenbach, Austria to develop product and process knowledge, learn established production practices, and build relationships with the global manufacturing team.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
People Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop production technicians; set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork
  • Build an engaged, accountable shop‑floor culture through feedback, recognition, and growth opportunities
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and cross‑training as the Waukesha operation scales, partnering with Manufacturing Engineering, Training, and Quality to close skill gaps and develop future leaders
Safety & Compliance
  • Own safe execution in the production area, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Maintain a visible safety presence,participatein audits/reviews, and foster a culture where employees proactively raise and resolve safety concerns
Production Execution
  • Lead daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals
  • Set daily/weekly/monthlyproductionpriorities and coordinate staffing, labor allocation, and sequencingbased on business requirements
  • Identifyand resolve constraints, bottlenecks, or shortages quickly to keep production flowing
  • Ensure adherence to standardized work and quality requirements
Daily Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Own and drive KPIs across Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost/Productivity
  • Lead daily production meetings and accountability routines
  • Apply Lean principles (standard work, 5S, waste reduction, visual management, continuous improvement) and support NPI and operational excellence initiatives
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, Logistics, and EHS to ensure production readiness
  • Communicateproductionpriorities, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders; support workforce planning as volume grows
  • Work with theJenbachteam to transfer production knowledge and best practices, and help build the operating systems needed for a successful Waukesha start-up and ramp
Whatyou’llbring
  • Bachelor's degree inManufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Business, ora relatedfieldpreferred.
  • 5+ years’ experienceleading teams in complex mechanical, electrical, engine, generator, heavy equipment, automotive, industrial equipment, or engineered-product assembly.
  • Experience with ERP or MES (Oracle preferred).
  • Ability to complete a training assignment at the Jenbacher manufacturing operation inJenbach, Austria.
