Job summary

Sandbox Logistics, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Business Contact (BC)/Operations Manager to lead daily FedEx Ground pickup and delivery operations. You will oversee driver training, staffing, safety, and performance while ensuring routes are completed each day.

The role requires strong leadership, quick decision‑making, and accountability for results in a fast‑paced environment with extended hours, weekends, and peak-season demands.

Qualifications

• Leadership and operations management experience required.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience managing and training employees.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience with GroundCloud, DRO, dispatch, routing or similar systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all scheduled routes are staffed, dispatched, and completed every day.
• Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop drivers.
• Conduct driver ride-alongs and performance evaluations.
• Manage daily dispatch, driver schedules, attendance, and call-outs.
• Monitor routes and coordinate rescues when necessary.
• Maintain safety, service, scanning, and pickup performance.
• Ensure compliance with company, FedEx Ground, and DOT requirements.
• Conduct safety meetings and assist with investigations.
• Monitor fleet readiness and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
• Develop contingency plans for driver call-outs and volume fluctuations.
• Monitor payroll, overtime, fuel usage, and operating expenses.
• Communicate daily operational performance to leadership.
