Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a Manager of Operations for Campus Business Services (CBS). CBS provides financial and business support, procurement, and expense administration across campus, enabling informed decisions and fiscal responsibility.

This role oversees CBS staff, policies, and high-level financial management for departments served by CBS. Hybrid work with 1-2 days in the office weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive fiscal management, business analysis, or financial modeling experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and university-level compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership of diverse teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversees staff execution of financial transaction and business support work across departments.
• Maintains adherence to CBS standards and procedures for financial transactions.
• Advises on compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements; escalation point for issues.
• Applies internal control principles to design, implement, and assess CBS processes; identify gaps.
• Delivers staff training and coordinates day-to-day alignment of work.
• Reviews and approves financial transactions, journals, reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
• Safeguards confidential financial and student data per policy and regulations such as FERPA/PCI.
• Provides guidance on financial data production, analysis, and communication.
• Maintains relationships with campus partners and CBS-served departments.
• Analyzes data metrics to drive process improvements and performance.
