Job summary

United Scrap Metal, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to assist the Operations Manager in directing the sorting and separating of raw materials. The role emphasizes initiating process improvements and leading the team to meet safety, production, and quality goals.

You will develop an operator training program, manage attendance and discipline for equipment, and coordinate day-to-day operations, scheduling, and staffing across departments while upholding safety programs and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English; working knowledge of Spanish.
• College degree or equivalent related job experience preferred.
• Experience in the metal industry/manufacturing/heavy industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to be hands-on while training and supporting direct reports.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment physical, background and credit check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct Operations Team Members and ensure safety program compliance.
• Develop training programs and lead process improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate scheduling and staffing within the department.
• Monitor production, efficiency, and cost per pound.
• Respond to Sales inquiries regarding service scope and capabilities.
