Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Project Lead. You will conceive, plan, coordinate and lead O&M projects from small to medium scope and complexity, applying engineering best practices.

You will supervise junior staff, mentor colleagues, develop proposals with sales, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors. Domestic and international travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical school certificate.
• Class III operator certification as water, wastewater and/or industrial plant operator.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties and workload.
• Equivalent related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Conceives, plans, coordinates and leads the completion of operations and maintenance projects of small to medium scope and basic to high complexity.
• Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside the firm's organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to O&M projects.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and prospective client requests for proposal (RFPs).
• Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
• Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future O&M needs.
• Supervises the work of junior staff on project work.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff.
• Mentors junior staff and develops them for growth within the discipline and firm.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Performs administrative duties, including coordinating meetings with clients, preparing project schedules and budgets; and assisting in preparation of proposals and other business development efforts.
• Provides updates to clients, subcontractors, and contractors on project status, startup and scheduling.
