Job summary

University Health Services at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking an Assistant Director of Operations to join our dynamic team. This role partners with clinical and operational leaders to support operations across Medical Services, Mental Health Services, Survivor Services, and Prevention teams, ensuring the health and wellbeing of students throughout UW–Madison.

This position emphasizes compliance, process improvement, and strategic planning, including managing immunization policy

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of operations experience in office, healthcare, higher education, or related field.
• Experience in compliance or regulatory programs such as accreditation.
• Previous supervision experience.
• Experience coordinating complex programs across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience developing and improving operational processes with ability to interpret policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides operational leadership and support for annual UHS immunization clinics across campus.
• Advises divisional or executive leadership, coordinating administrative, operational and financial activities for assigned units and strategic initiatives.
• Provides project management and coordination for strategic initiatives, including internal communications and applications.
• Oversees the UHS wellness vending program.
• Partners with clinical executive leaders to support operational initiatives and day-to-day needs, identify process improvements, and facilitate cross-unit collaboration.
• Assists with establishing goals and priorities for the annual budget for all revenues and expenditures.
• Engages in strategic planning and policies to support stakeholders.
• Helps develop processes to improve the unit.
• Exercises supervisory authority for at least 2.0 FTE employees.
• Ensures related policies, procedures, and standards are maintained.
• Oversees and manages compliance for the campus Immunization Disclosure policy and leads the Campus Immunization Leadership Team.
• Evaluates, designs, and implements operations to align with strategic direction.
• Supports IT management with inventory tracking, ordering, and project management.
