Job summary

The University of Massachusetts President's Office in Westborough, MA is offering a Fall 2026 internship at $17.00 an hour for current UMass students. The Operations Intern will support day-to-day building operations and administrative functions to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient office environment.

Responsibilities include facilities coordination, event support, mail room and procurement tasks, and developing operational procedures to improve workflows. Hours up to 20 per week, on-site.

Qualifications

• Current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with proactive approach.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Able to lift 25 lbs and work on-site in Westborough, MA.

Responsibilities

• Building Access & Facilities: support access control and visitor check-ins, coordinate maintenance with vendors.
• Event support: set up/break down rooms and furniture for meetings and events.
• Mail Room & Office Supply: lead mailroom and shipping activities; manage inventory and procurement.
• Assist in developing and implementing operational procedures to improve office workflows.
• Perform other operational tasks and errands as assigned.
