Job summary

Med-National Staffing Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations Group Lead to oversee daily production activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

This hands-on leadership role drives safety, quality, productivity, and team performance on the production floor. You will coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to maintain stable, repeatable operations, lead root-cause analyses, and implement Lean improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in automotive, industrial, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Direct supervision of production teams or similar leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise production associates and team leads to achieve daily production goals.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment through adherence to safety policies.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and manufacturing processes.
  • Execute daily production schedules, manage staffing levels, and balance labor resources.
  • Monitor and drive performance related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and team development metrics.
  • Facilitate daily production meetings, shift handoffs, and floor communication.
  • Identify production issues and lead root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Escalate complex operational challenges and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Support implementation of process improvements and risk reduction activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance to minimize downtime and improve OEE.
  • Drive Lean and structured problem-solving initiatives.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members for engagement and performance.

Operations Group Lead Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Operations Group Lead to oversee daily production activities within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and team performance while supporting efficient and reliable operations on the production floor.

The Operations Group Lead will provide direct supervision to production associates and team leads, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining compliance with safety standards and quality expectations. This position works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to support stable, repeatable, and continuous improvement-focused operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise production associates and team leads to achieve daily production goals.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment through consistent adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and established manufacturing processes.
  • Execute daily production schedules, manage staffing levels, and balance labor resources to support production requirements.
  • Monitor and drive performance related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and team development metrics.
  • Facilitate daily production meetings, shift handoffs, and floor communication activities.
  • Identify production issues and lead initial root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
  • Escalate complex operational challenges and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues effectively.
  • Support implementation of process improvements, manufacturing changes, control plans, and risk reduction activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime, reduce defects, and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members to strengthen skills, engagement, accountability, and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records related to production performance, quality concerns, and safety incidents.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive, industrial, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • At least 2 years of direct production floor supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production systems, and quality processes.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, safety-focused production environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, solve problems, and make timely decisions.
  • Ability to spend the majority of the workday on the manufacturing floor supporting operations and employees.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Body-in-White (BIW), welding, robotic automation, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA development, control plans, and structured problem-solving tools.
  • Familiarity with highly automated production environments and advanced manufacturing technologies.
