Job description

\"We energize society\" by supporting our customers to make the transition to a more sustainable world, based on innovative technologies and our ability to turn ideas into reality. With nearly 100,000 employees around the world, we shape the energy systems of today and tomorrow.

As a Financial Analyst supporting the AGT Product Competency Center (PCC), you will play a key role in driving financial governance, commercial project management, and operational financial performance across the organization. You will support the development and maintenance of Power Turbine (PT) build and repair standards used within the AGT Standard Definition Document (SDD) for sales bids, while partnering closely with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and the Repair & Overhaul Center in Montreal. You will also provide Commercial Project Management support for AGT New Units projects, from proposal and bid support through project execution, ensuring strong financial control and supporting Project Managers in delivering successful outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work across both financial governance and project execution while improving cost transparency, inventory management, procurement effectiveness, and overall commercial performance.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Implement and maintain the financial “Wall to Wall” concept for Power Turbine activities, develop cost models driven by customer scope requirements, and partner with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate financial governance and cost transparency for equipment managed under the PCC.

  • Collaborate with Governance stakeholders and the Repair & Overhaul Center in Montreal to develop and manage cost estimates and support the establishment of Power Turbine build and repair standards for inclusion in the AGT Standard Definition Document (SDD), enabling accurate and competitive sales bids.

  • Support AGT New Units projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from proposal and bid support through execution, providing financial analysis, project controlling, forecasting, and commercial support to Project Managers to ensure projects remain financially and operationally on track.

  • Participate in Power Turbine Work-in-Progress (WIP) reviews with the Montreal team, manage inventory-related financial activities including risk and internal controls, and support the identification and resolution of financial issues impacting project and operational performance.

  • Lead and support the resolution of invoice and EDI discrepancies for Mods & Upgrades projects and Parts Orders, perform monthly Balance Sheet reviews including Invoice Receipt/Goods Receipt accounts and ICC balances, and provide timely approvals for key requests such as freight funding and vendor cost increases.

  • Provide financial and commercial support for Power Turbine kit procurement and quoting activities, resolve complex vendor invoice issues, analyze vendor pricing and cost trends for New Units, and identify opportunities to improve cost management, purchasing effectiveness, and financial performance.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant accounting qualifications may also be considered.

  • 5+ years of related professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Analysis, Controlling, or a comparable business environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, Power BI, and other relevant financial and analytical tools, with the ability to analyze financial data and translate findings into actionable business insights.

  • Prior experience in Operations Finance, Inventory Management, Cost Accounting, Commercial Project Management, Procurement Finance, or a project-based manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Solution-oriented and assertive with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills; demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions, work through complex issues, and build strong relationships with Finance, Operations, Procurement, and project teams.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
