Job summary

GWS Tool Group seeks a Junior Controller (Operations) to partner with the operations team and manufacturing locations, translating production and financial data into actionable insights that improve cost performance, inventory accuracy, working capital, and profitability.

Working closely with location leaders, production, procurement, and Financial Control, you will investigate variances, validate costing inputs, and drive corrective actions with measurable results during month‑end close and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including manufacturing cost accounting.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, overhead absorption, account reconciliations, and manufacturing financial controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience analyzing ERP data; Infor Visual ERP preferred.
• Ability to investigate beyond summaries, connect financial results to production activity, and communicate practical recommendations to operations leaders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs by location, product, work order, or process to identify cost drivers and opportunities for improvement.
• Investigate actual performance against standard cost, prior periods, budgets, and forecasts; explain variances and recommend actions.
• Partner with plant leaders to validate findings and track financial results and savings.
• Review costing inputs and coordinate corrections with operations and finance.
• Develop KPIs and reporting for productivity, inventory performance, and cost management; present explanations and actions.
