Job summary

GWS Tool Group in Surprise, AZ is seeking a Junior Controller (Operations) to partner with the operations team and manufacturing locations, translating production and financial data into actionable insights that improve cost performance, inventory accuracy, working capital, and profitability.

Working with location leaders, you will investigate variances, validate costing inputs, and follow through with corrective actions and measurable savings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including manufacturing cost accounting.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, overhead absorption and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel and ERP data analysis; Infor Visual ERP experience and multi-location work preferred.
• Investigate beyond summary reports and communicate practical recommendations to operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze costs by location/product/work order to identify drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Investigate variances; explain usage, price, labor efficiency, scrap and overhead impacts.
• Partner with plant leaders to validate findings and track savings and actions.
• Review BOMs, routings, labor/machine rates, and overhead allocation; coordinate updates.
• Develop KPIs and reporting for productivity, inventory, and capacity; present actions.
