Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Process Improvement Consultant (PIC) to join the Operational Excellence (OPEX) team at our distribution center. You will act as the local SME for process improvement methods, driving initiatives to boost productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency while balancing network standards with local needs.

The role requires analytical thinking, change management skills, and the ability to engage site leadership with data-driven insights to support major network initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Kaizen Leader certification preferred.
• 4+ years in process improvement or related fields.
• Experience in large-scale distribution centers.
• Proven track record leading improvement projects with measurable results.
• Strong analytical skills; translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience using Power BI, Excel, and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of process-mapping tools (e.g., Lucid).
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change.
• Travel 25% to regional distribution centers.

Responsibilities

• Execute and support network-wide process improvement strategies across an assigned portfolio of distribution centers.
• Serve as the local SME for process improvement methodologies, onsite support to facility.
• Analyze data, workflows and KPIs to identify and prioritize opportunities across receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and QIC.
• Lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and root-cause analysis workshops.
• Develop and implement action plans to address gaps and bottlenecks.
• Support standardization of best practices and drive consistency in process execution.
• Monitor KPIs and report trends to site leadership.
• Train and mentor personnel on continuous improvement tools and principles.
• Support major projects with new tech implementations and network optimization.
