RTX's Operations Engineering Specialist program offers an onsite co-op in Andover, MA, from January 2027 through June 2027, focusing on manufacturing process learning and innovative problem solving in aerospace and defense.

You will lead projects, analyze data, prepare reports, and present results while aligning with Six Sigma principles. The role supports Performance Excellence, Integrated Supply Chain, Hardware Quality and Production Engineering within RTX's aerospace ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor or advanced degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering, plastics engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering or applied mathematics, or related STEM major, enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Experience with project execution.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.

• Lead and manage project tasks within a manufacturing environment.
• Perform data analysis to support continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Support compliance initiatives and Six Sigma projects.

The Operations Engineering Specialist will participate in a complex and exciting manufacturing project environment, learning many aspects of the manufacturing process and contributing to the development of creative and innovative solutions. Overall, these projects are components of systems supporting homeland and missile defense strategies and may involve products currently in production, those in design and those transitioning to production.

Responsibilities can vary from video production, working with manufacturing teams to optimize production to immersing with engineering support on the production floor. The organization is heavily aligned with Six Sigma principles; hence a key component of this co‑op will be the completion of a project leading to the CORE Apprentice certification (The RTX version of a Six Sigma/Lean Yellow Belt). Additionally, the co‑op will work independently reviewing business systems and implementing new techniques within production areas. The co‑op will have broad‑based exposure to various business areas including Performance Excellence, Integrated Supply Chain, Hardware Quality and Production Engineering.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Location: Andover, MA Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. This position is for an ONSITE Co‑Op who will work from January 2027 through June 2027 Relocation assistance is NOT available for this role. The position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
