Job summary

Southwire Company invites motivated students to join its internship and co-op program. Participants will work on real projects within the Operations team (W&C and Rod Mill), gaining hands-on experience and mentorship.

The program emphasizes developing practical skills, delivering project milestones, and presenting成果 during a summer expo. Assignments span 10–12 weeks for interns and 16–18 weeks for co-ops, with a path to potential full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a relevant degree.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Up-to-date awareness of sustainability issues and trends.
• Proven teamwork experience and ability to work in a group.
• Strong organization, planning and analytical skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Support Operations team in W&C and the Rod Mill with key projects.
• Conduct data collection, analysis and report progress.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality and safety teams.
• Assist with creating and updating operations docs and SOPs.
• Participate in time studies and process improvement initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior leadership.
