Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company in Buffalo, NY is offering an Intern/Co-Op in Operations Engineering for Spring 2024. You will work with operating technicians and salaried staff to collect data and learn the manufacturing process, collaborating on process improvements and managing projects end-to-end.

Housing support may be provided to eligible interns to help with living costs during the program. You will gain hands-on experience with reporting systems, cost implications, and evaluating plant upgrade

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in progress or completed preferred (mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial).
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong problem solving and data collection skills.
• Ability to work in both office and plant environments and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with operating technicians and salaried staff to collect data and learn manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with operations teams on process improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Manage projects from scope development, capital appropriation, implementation, commissioning and verification.
