Job summary

Emerson in Sherman, TX seeks a full-time Summer/Fall Co-op in Engineering. You will work with Manufacturing Engineering on design tasks, create work instructions, and support lean initiatives while developing practical problem-solving skills.

This paid co-op offers hands-on experience with AutoCAD/SOLIDWORKS, value stream mapping, time studies, and continuous improvement projects; you will collaborate with a safety-conscious team and gain exposure to manufacturing audits.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Engineering.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Safety conscious.
• Self-motivated and disciplined with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Commitment to full-time Summer/Fall Co-op experience in Sherman, TX from January 2027–August 2027.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided.

Responsibilities

• Work with Manufacturing Engineering on daily tasks including design projects, writing work instructions, quality alerts, change requests, tooling/fixture drawings, and documentation.
• Collaborate to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges.
• Update value stream maps, shop floor layouts, and perform time studies.
• Participate in kaizen events to eliminate waste and improve processes, and document workflow and results.
• Assist with various research, testing, and evaluations.
• Process documentation, conduct data analysis, and perform manufacturing audits.
• Assist with process improvement projects tied to manufacturing.
• Complete projects as assigned by Engineering Manager.
