Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Summer/Fall Co-op in Sherman, TX to collaborate with Quality, Assembly, and Engineering on documentation, layout updates, and process improvements. You will participate in kaizen events and cross-functional meetings to address safety, quality, and production challenges.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program
• Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including MS Office
• Experience working in a team environment
• Safety conscious
• Self-motivated and disciplined with a hands-on approach to problem solving
• Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Summer/Fall Co-op experience in Sherman, TX from January 2027-August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Work with Quality/Assembly/Engineering on daily tasks to include but not limited to: writing work instructions, quality alerts, change requests, tooling/fixture drawings, and other documentation as required.
• Update shop floor layouts and perform time studies.
• Document current and future state workflow and potential process improvements.
• Participate in kaizen events to eliminate waste and improve processes and assist with lean initiatives.
• Attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary
• Collaborate with other engineers, teams, and departments to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges.
