Job summary

BASIS Leander is seeking a Head of Operations to lead finance and facilities, manage vendor relationships, and supervise a small operations staff. The role partners with the Head of School to maintain BASIS standards and works with central office on HR programs.

Reporting to the Sr. VP of School Services, this position oversees budgeting, purchasing, IT, safety drills, and office operations, ensuring smooth, compliant school operations and reliable support for students and staff.

Qualifications

• MBA or business degree required or equivalent experience.
• IVP fingerprint clearance card is preferred.
• 3–5 years in financial or purchasing management roles.
• 2+ years facilities management experience.
• HR-related experience is desirable.
• Experience in education or non-profit sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee school operations including security, IT, VOIP, and inventory.
• Manage budget and act as on-site bookkeeper with central office support.
• Coordinate salaries and benefits decisions with leadership.
• Lead HR functions in partnership with central HR team.
• Source and manage services for facilities, housekeeping, and grounds.
• Procure supplies, bids, and outside contracts; ensure safety drills and records.
• Supervise front office and records management; maintain asset records.
