Job summary

Save the Children is seeking a data-focused professional to build dashboards, reports, and automate processes from a Lexington, KY hybrid office. The role emphasizes data governance, quality, and effective communication to guide workforce and business decisions.

The ideal candidate will create, maintain, and interpret dashboards (Power BI), develop data dictionaries, and support data literacy while ensuring privacy and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Foundational experience with data reporting and visualization from internships, projects or entry-level roles.
• Basic understanding of data concepts, governance, quality, metrics, and reporting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Effective written and verbal communication, able to document processes for nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; comfortable with structured datasets.
• English language proficiency (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance dashboards and reports; collaborate with partners to meet reporting needs.
• Develop a data dictionary documenting metrics, data sources, and calculations.
• Define reporting requirements and data models with Data Infrastructure.
• Review reports for metric definitions and data accuracy; consolidate where possible.
• Audit reports and distribution lists to ensure access and privacy compliance.
• Maintain and expand automations for automated reporting and dashboard updates.
• Analyze data to identify trends and translate into actionable recommendations.
• Support data literacy and ensure compliant data use and definitions.
• Document data ownership, definitions, and usage standards for stewardship.
• Monitor data quality; escalate discrepancies and support remediation with system owners.
• Partner with Data Governance to enforce BOSS data standards.
