Job Description

Best Virginia Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical is looking for a data-focused, analytical professional to help turn company information into clear reports, dashboards, and actionable insights.

This is primarily a data analysis and reporting position, with a smaller portion of the role dedicated to coordinating business systems and providing basic internal technology support.

The position is approximately:

70% Data Analysis, Reporting, and Dashboard Development

15% Business Systems and Network Coordination

15% Basic Technology and Employee Device Support

The right candidate will enjoy working with numbers, identifying trends, improving data accuracy, and helping leadership understand what the data is telling us. This person will also serve as a point of contact between our employees and our outsourced IT provider and assist with routine technology needs such as setting up devices, troubleshooting printers, and ordering equipment.

This is not primarily a help desk, network administrator, or advanced IT position. Applicants should have a stronger background and interest in data analysis than traditional IT support.

Primary Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Reporting

Collect, clean, organize, and validate company data to ensure it is accurate and reliable.

Track key performance indicators, operational results, and other business metrics.

Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, inconsistencies, and changes in performance.

Create and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations for leadership and department teams.

Turn raw data into clear summaries and practical insights that support business decisions.

Work with department leaders to understand their reporting needs and determine the best way to present the information.

Help make dashboards and reports clear, organized, user-friendly, and easy to understand.

Investigate discrepancies and help resolve data-quality issues.

Maintain and improve existing spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, and data processes.

Use Excel formulas, reporting tools, automation, or other practical solutions to reduce repetitive work and improve accuracy.

Document data sources, reporting processes, calculations, limitations, and recurring issues.

Business Systems and Vendor Coordination

Help maintain and improve the company’s business systems, workflows, and technology-related processes.

Assist with user access, permissions, system setup, and basic system administration.

Help identify system limitations, integration issues, and process gaps.

Coordinate with software vendors and our IT provider when additional technical support is needed.

Communicate technical issues clearly between employees, vendors, and leadership.

Follow company practices for password security, access control, phishing awareness, and safe handling of company information.

Assist with basic connectivity or system-access issues and elevate advanced problems to the appropriate provider.

Basic Technology Support

Provide basic troubleshooting for common employee technology issues.

Set up laptops, monitors, iPads, printers, and other equipment for new and current employees.

Assist with user accounts, software access, and device setup.

Order and maintain an inventory of laptops, monitors, tablets, and other technology equipment.

Serve as the internal point of contact for employees who need assistance from our outsourced IT provider.

Track recurring technology issues and document their resolutions.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to work with data and turn it into clear, useful information.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, data validation, PivotTables, and lookup functions.

Ability to collect, clean, validate, analyze, and explain data.

Ability to create clear reports, summaries, dashboards, or visualizations from raw information.

Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

Ability to identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential errors.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to explain data and technical information to non-technical team members.

Ability to manage multiple priorities based on urgency, importance, available resources, and business impact.

Comfortable providing basic employee technology support and working with an outsourced IT company.

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.

Local to the Hurricane/Teays Valley, WV area and able to work in person.

Preferred Qualifications

One to two years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, operations analysis, or a similar data-focused role.

Experience creating dashboards using Power BI or a comparable reporting platform.

Experience working with operational, financial, sales, customer service, or performance data.

Experience using ServiceTitan or another field-service management platform.

Familiarity with business systems, user permissions, device setup, and basic troubleshooting.

Experience improving reporting processes through formulas, automation, or scripting.

Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business analytics, information systems, business, or a related field preferred, but equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Competitive Pay: $20–$24 per hour, based on experience.

Medical Insurance: We pay 100% of the employee premium for health, dental, and vision insurance. Family coverage may be added at the employee’s expense. Insurance is available on the first of the month following 30 consecutive days of employment.

Additional Company-Paid Coverage: Short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and AD&D coverage are included at no cost to the employee.

Paid Time Off: Thirteen days of PTO. First-year PTO will be prorated based on the employee’s month of hire and may be used after 90 consecutive days of employment.

401(k) Plan: The company matches 3% at 100% and an additional 2% at 50%. Employees are eligible after six consecutive months of employment.
