Job summary

Qualifications
- BS/BA in CS, engineering or equivalent or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of Power BI dashboard development with AAS as backend.
- 2+ years building ETL pipelines with ADF.
- 2+ years developing and maintaining on-premises SSRS reports.
- Experience with SSAS and tabular models.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards/reports using AAS.
- Create and optimize DAX calculations and tabular models.
- Design and manage ETL pipelines with ADF to ingest data from multiple sources.
- Develop and support on-premises SSRS reports for operations.
- Write/optimize SQL queries across Azure SQL and on-prem SQL Server.
- Utilize SSAS/AA S for tabular models and enforce RLS and governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable dashboards.
- Monitor and optimize performance of Power BI, AAS, and SSRS.

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports (80%) while providing support for on-premises SSRS reporting (20%). This role requires expertise in Azure Analysis Services (AAS), SQL Server, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSRS, and DAX for data modeling and visualization. Strong skills in data integration, transformation, and report development are essential, with a focus on working across Azure cloud environments, data warehouse architecture, and on-premises SQL Server systems.

- Develops and maintains Power BI dashboards and reports utilizing Azure Analysis Services (AAS)
- Creates and optimizes DAX calculations and tabular models to enhance Power BI performance and usability
- Designs and manages ETL pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ingest and transform data from multiple sources
- Develops and supports on-premises SSRS reports to meet operational reporting requirements
- Writes and optimizes complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning across Azure SQL and on-premises SQL Server
- Utilizes SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Azure Analysis Services to build and optimize tabular models
- Implements Row-Level Security (RLS) and enforces data governance practices in Power BI and AAS
- Collaborates with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver scalable, actionable dashboards
- Monitors, troubleshoots, and optimizes Power BI, AAS, and SSRS for performance and scalability
- Completes assigned tasks in a safe, accurate, thorough, and alert manner
- Upholds Company policies and procedures
- Works in a professional manner with managers, supervisors, coworkers, customers, and the public

- Strong DAX skills for creating complex measures and calculated columns
- Proficiency in SQL, including query optimization, stored procedures, and indexing strategies
- Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics and Data Lakes
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling best practices
- Understanding of data modeling principles: star schema, fact and dimension tables
- Familiarity with Python or R for advanced data analytics
- Exposure to DevOps practices for Power BI and SQL deployments
- Ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements and new Power BI features
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Able to prioritize duties and manage multiple projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
- Ability to coordinate, contribute to, and work within a cross-functional team
- Must possess the ability to take initiative to complete assignments and job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university, or five (5) years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience developing Power BI dashboards with Azure Analysis Services (AAS) as the backend
- 2+ years of experience using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to build and manage ETL pipelines
- 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining on-premises SSRS reports
- Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and tabular models
- Experience in authoring, editing, and processing Azure Analysis Services models for report consumption
- Previous experience in HVAC Industry or other service business preferred
- Continuously able to work in office environment
- Continuously able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer
- Continuously able to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours
- Able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day
- Occasionally able to lift up to 15 lbs.
