Job summary

Brown University is seeking a part-time Operations Coordinator for Volleyball to support the day-to-day operations of the NCAA Division I program. You will report to the Head Coach and help promote the program while coordinating travel and events.

This seasonal role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to compliance with NCAA rules. Total weekly hours are approximately 5, with on-site work at Brown.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in volleyball (collegiate playing, coaching or operations); Division I experience preferred.
  • Experience planning and organizing team travel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and organize the day-to-day operation of the Volleyball program.
  • Assist Head Coach in all phases of daily operations and promotion of a Division I program.
  • Work as part of a team to support the Volleyball program’s success and compliance.

Job Description

The Operations Coordinator, Volleyball reports to the Head Coach,Volleyball and is responsible for the coordination and organizationof the day-to-day operation of the Volleyball program. TheOperations Coordinator assists the Head Coach in all phases of thedaily operations and promotion of a Division I intercollegiatevolleyball program.

This is a part-time, seasonal position with approximately 5 hoursof work per week.

Job Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education andexperience required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in volleyball (collegiateplaying, coaching or operations); Division I experiencepreferred.
  • Experience planning and organizing team travel preferred.

  • Excellent computer, organizational and interpersonalskills.
  • Attention to detail and communication skills (written andverbal) skills preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively withstudent-athletes, parents, alumni, colleagues and the public.
  • Strong commitment to the welfare of student-athletes.

  • Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to compliancewith, NCAA, ECAC, Ivy and University rules and regulations inregard to operations.
  • The successful candidate for this position will be required tocomplete a criminal background and DMV checks satisfactory to BrownUniversity prior to commencing employment.

All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplaryethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; theduties of the position are to be performed in compliance with allNCAA, Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations onbehalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within thedivision are to be reported to the compliance office andappropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions must receiveannual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting bythe compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aidcertification (certification is available at no cost through theDivision).
