Qualifications

  • ISA Certified Arborist certification preferred.

Job Summary

Safely perform functions of the Operations Coordinator in the Transmission Vegetation Management work group as follows:

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Schedule, assign, & monitor contract work involving Entergy’s Vegetation Management & Entergy’s Safety requirements,
  • Promote and support safety of contractors by performing and documenting various field inspections/observations and maintaining records
  • Develop and promote strong safety leadership with co-workers and assigned contract workforce,
  • Electric utility experience of safety processes, regulations & procedures (incl. Job Hazard Analysis/Tailboards),
  • Ability to perform all job duties within Entergy safety rules and guidelines,
  • Manage respective Transmission Vegetation program/area in a manner that promotes full compliance with all NERC FAC-003 requirements
  • Full working knowledge of current IVM programs/techniques.
  • Working knowledge of SWPPP and other Environmental Management requirements
  • Work with PM&C/Construction Departments involving estimating, planning & oversight of new Right of Way projects,
  • Develop, maintain, and implement yearly maintenance plans for assigned work areas,
  • Perform field and accounting audits of contractor invoices. Be accountable for accuracy of contractor billing,
  • Manage annual work and project budgets for assigned work areas,
  • Experience in Contract Management including oversight of multiple contract projects, bidding procedures and analysis,
  • Assisting contract management with writing scope of work and specifications for various contracts involved with vegetation management
  • Negotiating, creating and inputting contracts electronically through contract systems
  • Monitor reliability and implement improvement plans in assigned work areas,
  • Coordinate contract personnel during emergency and storm restorations throughout Entergy Service territory and off System during mutual assistance opportunities
  • Respond to all customer complaints regarding VM activities in accordance to Customer Issue Resolution process,
  • Ability to mitigate conflict management,
  • Communicate work plans and status of all projects to internal customers,
  • Participate in external customer communication and educational programs,
  • Ability to participate in all core process improvements as required,
  • Good PC Skills involving Microsoft applications and other Entergy applications,
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direct supervision,
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to fly long hours in helicopter patrols performing routine and storm inspection flights
  • Ability to work extended hours in challenging terrain and environments while coordinating emergency restoration efforts
  • Participating in group or department teams

Providing info and coordinating responses to corporate, governmental and trade related surveys or requests for information

Qualifications, Experience, & Physical Requirements
  • College degree (Forestry or related field STRONGLY preferred) with at least 2+ years Vegetation Management experience, OR 7+ years electric utility Vegetation Management / electric utility Line Management experience REQUIRED,
  • Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA Certified Arborist),
  • Pesticide License with State Plant Board (Right of Way, Agriculture or Forestry category) strongly preferred,
  • Proven safe work and driving record,
  • Working knowledge of T&D electrical systems, work procedures &/or maintenance operations,
  • Candidate must be able to work extended work hours and perform “Call-Out” duties,
  • Candidate must be able to assist in storm and outages restoration in all Entergy work jurisdictions as needed.
  • Ability to fly long hours in helicopter patrols performing routine and storm inspection activities
