Position Summary

The Operations Coordinator supervises and directs the day‑to‑day operations of the facilities, providing leadership and direction to part‑time staff on building policy and procedures.

This role is paid hourly at $18.00.

About The Venue

Hilliard Center, an entertainment complex owned by the city of Corpus Christi and managed by OVG, is located in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas. The complex comprises an arena, auditorium, and convention center and hosts conventions, trade shows, exhibitions, live performances, and sporting events.

Responsibilities

• Support event changeovers, including basketball floor, stage risers, chairs, and signs.
• Perform routine to moderate tasks maintaining livestock arena, exercise arena, stall barn, facility floors, chairs, staging, risers, and other inventory.
• Oversee housekeeping services.
• Assign work activities, monitor workflow, identify and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate records for hazardous materials communication program.
• Interact with clients and provide physical facility needs, including custodial duties, within state and local laws.
• Perform moderate to difficult set‑ups in livestock facilities and work around livestock.
• Operate machinery including forklifts, skid steers, tractors, and pickup trucks.
• Review, coordinate, and implement changeover work plans and facility maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Superior interpersonal and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to function in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self‑motivated with strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of operational equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scrubbers, floor buffers, mechanical lifting devices, staging, retractable seating risers, and basketball floors.
• Ability to follow written instructions and interpret AutoCAD drawings and blueprints.
• Capable of following orders explicitly, working as part of a team, and collaborating with others.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks including cleanup and storage of tools and supplies.
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended workdays, and extended number of days.
• Forklift certification preferred.
