Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service and uniform standards.
  • Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus to provide described service.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following all state/federal regulations.
  • Upsell products by knowledge of beers, wines, and spirits.
  • Pour drinks responsibly, check IDs, and communicate cut-offs as required.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and restock as needed.
  • Assist with setup/breakdown of bar equipment and organization of the cooler.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 and is tip eligible.

About The Venue

Hilliard Center is Corpus Christi's premier entertainment and event complex, proudly owned by the City of Corpus Christi and managed by Oak View Group. Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
  • Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
  • Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
  • Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
  • Check the guest's ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
  • Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns.
  • Bartenders are expected to de‑escalate intoxicated guest situations. If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required.
  • Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision‑making.
  • Request additional products or restock products as needed.
  • Responsible for the issued bank at the bar.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation at all times. Ensures that bar equipment is clean and well maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned may include setting up and breaking down bar equipment as required and assisting with the organization of the cooler.
