What you will do
- Operational Support: Ensures consistent operations across Alliant Energy Operations by adhering to company policies and procedures. Maintains and develops basic computer applications such as documents, forms, spreadsheets, charts, graphics, and presentations.
- Records & Compliance: Tracks, maintains, and monitors operational files, contracts, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Assists with audits and data requests as directed.
- Financial Oversight: Supports Operations in achieving financial goals by reviewing expenditures for accuracy and identifying cost‑saving opportunities. May process invoices, vouchers, requisitions, and expense reports. Collaborates with financial analysts to monitor business group performance against budgets and review financial forecasts.
- Administrative Systems: Develops and maintains moderately complex computer applications and databases. Establishes and manages filing systems for business records. Provides backup administrative support to other business groups or company executives as needed.
- Project Coordination: Executes special projects, including preparing reports, strategic plans, and budget materials. Conducts research and compiles information to support decision‑making. Offers recommendations for process improvements when appropriate.
- Confidentiality & Discretion: Handles sensitive information and confidential matters with discretion. Exercises judgment and initiative in addressing issues in the absence of a supervisor, ensuring appropriate resolution and escalation.
- Scheduling & Prioritization: Plans and coordinates daily activities for Operations, managing and prioritizing verbal and written requests. Maintains an accurate and dynamic schedule to reflect evolving priorities.
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree Administrative Support, or related field. Preferred.
Required Experience
- 3 years of related experience.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting multiple business groups or supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of office equipment and computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of internet web browsers. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint preferred. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (PDF) software preferred.
- Proficient and accurate typing skills required.
